Organic Search · AEO

Be the answer, not just a result.

Answer Engine Optimization structures your content so it gets pulled into featured snippets, "People also ask", voice assistants and AI-generated answers.

What is AEO?

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of writing and structuring content so it directly answers the question someone asked — clearly enough that a search engine or AI assistant can lift that answer and show it.

Where SEO asks "can this page rank?", AEO asks "is this page the clearest answer to the question?". The two work together: AEO builds on a technically sound, well-structured site.

What I help with

Question research

Finding the real questions your audience asks — from search data, People Also Ask, forums and sales conversations.

Answer-first content

Restructuring pages so the direct answer comes first, followed by the depth and context.

Structured data

FAQ, HowTo, Article, Product and other schema.org markup so machines understand exactly what each page says.

Snippet and PAA targeting

Formatting answers — definitions, lists, tables, steps — to match the result types that show up for each query.

How I approach AEO

  1. Map the questions

Group the questions your audience asks by intent and by the page that should answer them.

  2. Answer clearly

Put the direct, factual answer near the top. Then add depth.

  3. Mark it up

Add the right structured data and a clean heading structure.

  4. Track visibility

Monitor snippets, PAA and AI answers, not only rankings.

AEO FAQs

Is AEO different from SEO?

AEO is a layer on top of SEO. It uses the same foundations but optimises for being the extracted answer, rather than just a ranked link.

Does FAQ schema still help?

Google shows FAQ rich results for far fewer sites than it used to, but clear question-and-answer structure and schema still help search engines and AI systems understand and extract your content.

What kind of content works best for AEO?

Content that answers a specific question directly and accurately — definitions, how-tos, comparisons, and pages built around a single clear question.
